Kingston Masterplan Released

The new master urban plan for Kingston, Ocean Grove has been released. The plan outlines future linkages through the existing subdivision, connecting new schools, sports grounds, parks and shopping facilities. It also includes land allocations for neighbourhood activity centres and aged care facilities. This plan follows the City of Greater Geelong’s 2007 Ocean Grove Structure Plan release.

The Development’s Managing Director Jason Corless welcomes the release “We are pleased we have reached this stage of the planning process. It gives everyone some surety and an illustration of how our community is progressing.”

“I hope our significant investment will also hasten public infrastructure works, including the Shell Road Sporting Precinct, connecting cycling infrastructure and the duplication of Grubb Road by Vic Roads, as first planned in 2007”  Mr. Corless added.

The plan shows the entrances to Kingston from Grubb Road and Banks Road. It also shows proposed walking and cycling links to Kingston Park and the Ocean Grove Nature Reserve. This will eventually link to the Barwon River, as per the Ocean Grove Masterplan.

Commenting on the new sports ground Mr. Corless added “The green space from the existing lake, through the new Stage 23, links the proposed sports ground and sporting facilities. We hope to commence these works by the end of this year.”

“New blocks will only be released as the demand warrants it. However we are very pleased with the popularity of Kingston as it is. Many customers are buying their second or third block because of the proven sales record and desirability of living close to shops, schools, beaches and the swimming pool”.

“We also plan to continue planting trees on our nature strips and providing an even spread of local parks, with leisure facilities and playgrounds for young families.”
