Careful consideration is given to the design and plant selection for Kingston Reserves. Indigenous plants and trees are carefully selected and used where possible. For example in the Stage 23 Reserve design trees selected include the Bellarine Yellow Gum, Drooping Sheoak, and the River Red Gum. Ground covers include the Coast Flax Lilly and the wetland plantings include the Knobby Club-rush and Tall sedge. The actual creek bed features rocks, graded rock and ‘scalpings’ to slow flows. This design ensures plantings are successful and require minimum water.
